About The Lucca Grill

"A Tradition of Quality since 1936 "Unchanging". From the antique mahogany bar and the historic tin ceiling, to the inclusive family-like atmosphere, the sands of time have taken very little. The charm of times-past has really ensnared the fancy of both townies, who once came in as children with their parents, and transplants, looking for their new regular spot. They all will drop in from time to time, to once again savor the unique "homey feeling" that is the Lucca Grill. The Lucca Grill...truly, A Tradition Of Quality."

Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Bloomington is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Bloomington follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Stopped in while traveling. No reservation but seated quickly. Italian Sausage Sandwich said it came with sautΓ©ed onions, green and red peppers. Arrived with a few pieces of cut up red pepper, no onions or green peppers. Meatball Sub looked dry. Both tasted good just didn't meet expectations. Lasagna and Italian Beef reportedly good. Server seemed surprised by how quickly we ate but it wasn't that much food. Left hungry.

The atmosphere is riddled with nostalgia from years gone by. This is a historical site as Lucca has been a huge part in the restaurant scene in Bloomington-Normal for decades!! The service is top notch. I've had many different servers when I dine there and each one has been friendly, patient, fast, and attentive. Again, top notch folks!! And the food!! Let me tell you, all of their food tastes incredible. Their old-school Dago sandwich is absolutely out of this world great! And let's not forget, they have the best pizza in town, BAR NONE!!! If you havent eaten here yet, you might reconsider some of your life choices, lol!!

We walked in at 7 without a reservation, and we're sat immediately. Our server was super sweet and attentive; there was never a time we didn't have full drinks. The bread sticks and crusty bread were good; I personally preferred the bread sticks but my companions all preferred the crusty bread. The food came out super fast. Everything was fresh and tasty. The pasta primavera with chicken and shrimp and the garden marinara was superb. The atmosphere was cozy and homey, not too loud. Decent for a date. The owner is nice and polite, very attentive. The tiramisu was great! Great balance, not too sweet but still very tasty.

We drove an hour to Bloomington from Champaign, and couldn't decide where to eat. We decided on Lucca's and we really loved the vibe. We ordered breadsticks, garlic bread, a pepperoni pizza and a half order of fettuccine alfredo. Our food was hot and amazing and my husband nearly cried trying the garlic bread. Tears were brought to my eyes when I tried my pasta. Service was incredible. Food was incredible. Vibe was incredible. It was worth the hour drive and we will be making this drive more often!

I’ve lived in the area for 3 years and finally stopped here for dinner. We did not have a reservation, but we were able to quickly get a table. We ordered some cheese garlic bread and meat ravioli as appetizers - both were very good. The garlic bread had a crispy crust with a soft fluffy center with the perfect amount of flavor. The meat ravioli was well breaded with well seasoned meat inside. Both come with marinara dipping sauce. We built our own thin pizza with sausage and pepperoni - OH my GOSH! It was crispy and had a delicious combination of flavors. I will definitely be coming back. And to add the cherry on top the tiramisu was cold, creamy and rich. It was the perfect way to end such a great meal. Our waiter was phenomenal; very attentive and friendly. He took the time to have a conversation even being busy.
